Government school inspectors using negative reviews to stop pay rises?

In the United Kingdom the teachers pay rises are based on governmental reviews that are carried out by people visiting the school and sitting in on the lessons. These inspectors can be anyone, not necessarily someone with teaching experience or even with a degree.

Israeli shift to private security draws fire

A marked departure from policy where Israel is now copying the Americans and using private firms to manage the security check points in some areas. The companies are of course still Israeli and the process is still exactly the same as the before.

Gazan students accepted to US universities denied by Israeli blockade

An interesting situation, i did not realise that the blockade was so encompassing as to effect students accepted into foreign universities. It is good to read that at least some Israelis in their parliament see how unfair and unproductive this policy can be.
